Hello hello!

Thanks for stopping by! My name is Daniel and I’m a guy who likes making music (a lot)! I’ve been playing guitar for as long as I can remember, and in about 10th grade, I started making music electronically. Since then, I’ve really come to appreciate the subtleties of good mixing & production in modern music.

Albeit, I do have a semi-unique approach to this all! Because of how expensive music plugins can be, I started recording sounds from my own house, modifying them in FL Studio, and creating drum & bell sounds out of them! These custom sounds now account for a proportion of the percussion in my songs, and sometimes even the melody (although, that is much more difficult to accomplish).

So what’s this website for? Great question! I launched this website long ago, so I could share beat ideas with my friends & collaborators. Over the past while, I’ve come to realize I can make a catalogue of these snippets and put them out for the world (or at least, a few visitors from time-to-time) to see & hopefully take inspiration from!

My favourite theme in music is… mystery! I want listeners to feel a mix of emotions as they listen, and always guess as to what’s coming next. In addition, for the melodies themselves, the more difficult the instruments are to identify, in my opinion, the better the track is! I do not follow this theme for all of my songs, but it exists as a general rule of thumb for me πŸ™‚ Some of my music is more main-stream!

The clips on here may sound random, as they should: I spent a lot of time making these & curating an assortment of different styles! This can be tricky, because most of the time, I don’t even save my own project files (think of it as digital improvisation – once it’s played once & learned from, it’s done)!

Please send me an email at dan[at]dshrecords.com if you’d like to collaborate on a track or if you’d like to learn more about how I process & layer my sounds – it’s nice to know this website has some activity! I try to upload at least once every couple of weeks πŸ™‚

Hope you enjoy the tracks!

All the best,

Daniel πŸ™‚
